Addiction could be easily classified as the primary conduct that gives a variety of short-term happiness and delights yet has unfavorable effects on the self and the surroundings in the long haul.
The habit of addiction is quite difficult and a real challenge to overcome.
When it comes to substance abuse, the physical and mental impacts of it are diverse as they could affect the individual to suffer a great loss in productivity, withdrawal, lack of care to oneself and others around him or her, as well as an obvious physical dependence to the offending substance itself. Humans thrive by being dependent on someone or something in general, as long as it is within reason and still governed by proper mental judgement then there would be no problem, but anything that becomes uncontrollable and has adverse effects on the body, can already be considered as an addiction. Being dependent on something creates an extraordinary level of reliance that can make the addicted individual lose touch with reality as they move to challenge and question basically everything and everyone they are involved with.
In order to manage this, the addict has to willingly submit to a recovery process from alcohol and drug use so that anything tormenting their body and minds can be stopped, and their addictions controlled easily. If the addict feels that love and support are provided to him by the people he values deeply, then he could be influenced to start the path to recovery.
